Cardboard Pinball Machines

This year we are making Pinball Machines to study Transfer Of Energy. I made special models for things that we are going to use in our Pinball Machine, Revenge of the Robots.

I made a rocket ship that when you knock down a landing strut, it will have a propeller spin. I also made a mini Pinball Machine out of Legos with an idea for the flippers. I also made a big button machine that uses aluminum foil to complete a circuit. I also made a robot head that has a button to make sound and LED's light up

Prop 1:
Hit up, light up

Materials needed:
Aluminium foil
Battery and Battery case
Lamp and Lamp base (3v preferable)
Wires
Cardboard

Method:

Cut the cardboard to a box shape, mount the lamp base using screws
Paste two rectangular aluminium foil on front side of box in both ends they shouldn't touch
Connect one of wires to battery case and another wire to one side of aluminium foil
Connect another wire from battery to another side of aluminium foil.

Poke two slit on the lamp box and also another box.
Connect two cardboard slits through them so that both boxes and slid through to touch each other

Make another box and cover it with aluminium foil on one side where slids are present.

Now when you push the box and alumimium foil of box 2 touches box 1, the circuit is closed and lamp will light up.

In order to mimic grandeur lamp we used Christmas ornament over the lamp.
